Hi Matsi,
-
Everything we do has risks. Driving in a car to the airport and from the airport at your desitination has higher risk than flying in the plane, but most people take that risk.
-
Going to the airport and flying in a plane is more risk than staying at home if no one else is in your house. But if you are having social contact with people outside your home, that may be as risky as flying.
-
But you can reduce your risk if you maticulously wear a N 95 mask and a clear face shield for your eyes, wipe down your seat area, seat tray and seat arms with a sanitizing wipe, and never touch your face unless you have sanitized your hands immediately before.
-
Once you are in Florida, you likely have as much or more risk from going to a grocery store or being in any indoor space with people not wearing masks. I suspect that Florida has a higher Covid-19 infection rate than New Jersey, and it certainly has much looser regulations on public behaviour and exposure.
-
So, I don't know that anyone else can say what is safe, we all need to take action to reduce our own risk.
-
(I'm 72, and will go grocery shopping tomorrow and be in NYC at NY Presbyterian Hospital on Friday, but I will be in full PPE with a N95 mask, a full face shield and gloves for both events.)

I live in Southeast Florida. Our stores still require face masks. But everything else is fully open. I do not go to restaurants or socialize in anyone's homes. I have not had anyone in my home except a hairdresser and a few family members 3 or 4 visits over 8 months.
If ur purpose is for short term visit/vacation, it's not worth it. If it's to stay for few months- then being able to stay outdoors while NJ weather forces people to stay indoors, it might be worth it.
But I decided I don't need to fly anywhere even tho I would love to (x Jersey gal!) .
Some have to fly to see their specialists.
Depends on why you need to travel to Florida. 🙏💕
Hi Matsi,
lankisterguy Is correct. I did quite a bit of flying when I was in w/w and on treatments. Your biggest risk is COVID-19.
Just be safe and mindful at all times.
