Nail issues

So have received some info from our health insurance that they will cover in house foot care indefinitely and going to a clinic very limited. OK that makes no sense. My question is I am only beginning to notice splitting and peeling and not unmanageable at this point. I don't want to take advantage of the system. So should I wait until the nails are horrid or by treating them early am I warding off potential issues in the future.

I never had problems with in-grown toe nails until I began taking Ibrutinib. My problem was with with my big toes and after about two years of suffering and podiatrist appointments, I finally consented to "partial-permanent" toe nail removal from both my big toes. That solved the problem. And by looking at my feet, you cannot really notice much of a difference in the appearances of the toe nails after the procedure. So they really do not remove very much of the toenails.

How interesting. I started lockdown with an ingrowing toenail on my big toe and couldn’t get treatment because of shielding. I’ve noticed a tendency on both big toenails towards this and may need the procedure you had done. I’m glad to hear it doesn’t leave deformed looking nails so thanks for this. I’m also on Ibrutinib.

Take care of your feet now. Take advantage of all the possibilities that the insurance offers. It is not only nails, but orthopedic and and circulation that call for serious, daily attention. You need your feet in perfect condition for fundamental function. You also need shoes from a shop that sells the right shoes. Ask podiatrists where they buy their shoes in your area. Expect to pay over $ 100, plus more for the right insoles.
