Checkup

Diagnosed in September 2017. My first 6 monthly review tomorrow. Before that they were 3 monthly.

Had blood taken 2 weeks ago and the review will be with a doctor by telephone.

Hoping the doc can email, text or even post me my results. The NHS seems to be terrible at digital stuff.

What questions should I ask?

Today - I guess your appt was yesterday!

Essentially WnW monitors you for:

Bloods, Hb Platelets and Lymphocyte counts.

Weight.

Lumps Lymphnodes spleen

Fatigue level

Infection levels.

The decision to treat is never a hard and fast issue. More often its what to treat with that gets us thinking!

Because of the pandemic my appointment was by telephone and was 30 minutes early. Usually I go for an appointment, have to pay £4 for parking and wait for 2 hours.

Dr. asked if I was having night sweats, lost weight, had fatigue. I said no. She told me that my bloods had hardly changed. She asked if I was shielding at home and could I get groceries etc? I told her I could.

I asked if she could email me my results. She said she would post me a copy. Post??? How much does that cost?

Whole conversation lasted 3 minutes and I never really got a chance to ask only 1 of my 6 questions.

She is a lovely Dr. I have met her but we both found the telephone conversation difficult but it was a very good use of a Dr's time. Just needs a little work.
