On the same vein as before is there anyone living in Wales who has received a letter regarding shielding . It would be helpful to know whether the NHS in Wales regarded CLL patients in this category . Should I ring my GP next week.
No letter ?? : On the same vein as before is... - CLL Support
No letter ??
Bore da Hilo,
I received my shielding letter last Monday (31st March) from the Welsh government.
Supermarket delivery slots like hens teeth where I live. I contacted local council (in my case Carmarthenshire) and was told I’d be contacted by them and offered a free weekly box of food supplies. If I didn’t hear from them, was given a number to call to access.
I was also given the phone number of my local councillor to ask about nearby shop deliveries.
If you haven’t had shielding letter, maybe contact your GP or haematology dept?
Really hope this helps you xxx stay safe.
I am in Scotland, just received mine 10 mins ago. Unlike England though no registration on NHS to enable shopping slots etc. I had to text my CHI number to an automated number instead. Fingers crossed. 🤞
Hopefully the systems are catching up with everyone now. Take care and keep strong 😘
I live in West Wales and rang my GP today as I hadn’t had the letter. I was told that I was not on the list as I have been in remission for almost 2 years since treatment. I am very happy that I am not regarded as ‘extremely vulnerable ‘ even if it does mean I will never get a delivery slot at Tescos ( and who needs them - the village shop now has bread flour !)
Pleased for you it’s good to know one way or the other . Tesco home delivery is practically impossible anyway I have joined an app called beedelivery brilliant 👍little more expensive but brought everything I asked for and the delivery man was lovely . Stay well .
