Good morning , yesterday as my husband had not had a text or letter i rang his hematology specialist nurse and was told as he was in remission he would not be classed as high risk but he would make inquiries and get back to me.the post arrived with a letter from the hospital for him to have a CT scan on Monday 6th of April he did not know that one had been requested , he decided to cancel it as he felt it was too risky (he just getting over a chest infection) his decision. Late afternoon his hematology nurse rang to he could find no more information as regards to the N H S letter, I mentioned the C T scan, and he said he should go , I have rebooked it for the 8th. My next port of call is going to be his Immunologist., any advice would be welcome.

Jenny, is there a specific reason why you need the letter?
I think there are lots of us that haven't had them for whatever reason (I haven't had one) but we know all CLL patients are high risk and what we need to do to stay safe.
Yes, we all know that we have CLL and need to self-isolate. the reason for my concern is him going to the hospital for a C T which puts him at risk and he is getting over a chest infection and he was told by his GP to say in. Today I spoke to the immunology nurse and I am so glad I did as his reply was that he very high risk and to cancel the C T, and he should have had a letter. The letter will enable me to get a priority shopping slot, as the wait is about a month so at the moment I have to go out and put us both at risk. I hope you find that answers your question.
Jenny please ask a local voluntary service to shop for you in the meantime. If you register with the government vulnerable persons site slots should appear in your Sainsburys app if you are registered with them (look every morning early ).
Thankyou Adrian, I registered last night. Scary times Adrian worry so much about my husband, as he has been suffering from a chest infection for the last 3wks.
You Shouldn’t ignore that. He might need antibiotics. People do still get ill of things that aren’t covid right now. I hope he’s not feeling too breathless. You could try calling his GP or haem team. Chances are nobody’s going to want to see you at the moment unless he’s really breathless. But they may be willing to talk and perhaps just try some antibiotics.
