Yerr - Good question! Variable depending on the ambient conditions. 72 hrs may see most of C19 perish. The longer its left the more certain you can be?

C19 has this oily coat of protection, when that evaporates is perishes. Virus need human cells to multiply, unlike bacteria.

Evidently 56deg kills it.

Stay safe.

Thanks for the info WinJ3. I was wondering about this! Seems very useful to know and interesting that no one has said much about it. At least as far as I know.

Where did the info come from if I might ask?

Take care,

Thundercat

The COVID-19 virus can persist in the air and on surfaces for hours, if not days, according to a new study performed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), CDC, UCLA and Princeton University.

Researchers and scientists found that the new coronavirus was detectable and stable on contaminated objects, suggesting that people could become infected in numerous ways.

Ok so solid information from solid sources. Thanks!

Kind of scary though. Guess that's why hand washing or disinfecting is so so important.

I do hope if anything good can come out of this, it's that healthy people learn to be more careful!!

I should of said healthier. I hate being lumped in as "unhealthy" despite this creepy disease.

Interesting study and it shows, how important disinfecting surfaces and washing hands are.

One thing I found confusing is the air detection for three hours . Does that mean it stays in the air for that long and for example if someone infected will sneeze or cough then for 3 hours people walking through the location can get infected ?

I thought that COVID-19 molecules were heavy to be able to stay in the air ?

We need Neil to explain this one, I hope he will 🀞🏻
