Lymphocyte count after FCR

9 months after end of FCR and lymphocytes 0.50

Meaning immune system still weak

So as from tomorrow self isolate

Also now see anyone with the coronavirus . One thing is they always have a low lymphocyte count

So if I got it my count could go more say 0.15 and alone how dangerous would that be ?

Blood count numbers are only part of the picture - what's equally important is how well the different components of our immune system communicate and work. That's best determined by how many infections you get, how ill you become compared to others with the same illness and how long you take to recover, along with what support you need to do so (antibiotics, hospitalisation, etc).

The lymphocyte count alone is a rather poor indication of your immunity, because it measures all your different lymphocytes in just one number. The relative ratio of CD4 and CD8 T cells along with the absolute numbers of B and T cells is also important, but you need special testing for that which is rarely done. FCR knocks down both B and T cells, so yes your immunity will be lower until your counts recover, but what lymphocytes you have are most likely working far better now without the suppression from CLL cells.

Lol. Neil is the bomb. Neil you missed your calling. You should have been a microbiologist. We would have a vaccine by now had you chosen another career path.

We can’t tell how we will fair. But I’m like you I’m post FCR and have no lymphocytes. But I say two things

1. Coronavirus might be after us but it has to find us first. I plan on making it as hard as possible for it to do so!

2. Hope can triumph over the odds. And it’s important to remember that whilst we may be at Lot higher risk I think most people’s estimate would still have the majority of us surviving if we were infected.

JSK - We all need to self isolate as much as possible to stop the spread of this virus, as well as to protect ourselves! In the US we are all under orders to do so, not just those of us who are older or have a compromised immune system. Neil has explained ways that our immunity levels can be checked. However, perfectly healthy individuals are also at risk with this virus. No one has all of the answers about how people react or respond to this virus. Personally I am ignoring statistics for now and concentrating on advice from reliable resources regarding the best ways to stay safe. When this is over doctors will be able to shift their attention to those stastics and what we can learn from them.

Stay well and come here if you just need some support and comforting. There is a lot of that here!
