I was diagnosed with CLL in 2013 and have been on W &W since then, with no intervention. I have half-yearly blood checks and my blood results have, apart from a blip a couple of years ago when I had a bone marrow specimen taken, been, according to my consultant, nearly as good as ‘a normal’ person’s blood results. My question is, with the Covid 19 epidemic, as my immune system is compromised, can I still volunteer at my local CAB if I keep a metre distance between myself and other people and just give telephone advice ? I don’t want to put my wife and close family in danger. These are unsettling times !!
Many thanks in anticipation.

Walter, I don't know what CAB is, but in US friends 60 and older who are volunteers in public places--hopsital and airport, to be specific to my experience--have been told not to come to their usual posts for now.
So, it seems to be age related here, because of that being a stand-alone risk to our immune systems. I would assume, there is the same caution for those that are known to be immune compromised, but as we well know, we don't all have the same levels.
It might be a good idea for you to consult with you Dr. in regard to your risk. Also, if CAB is a high-contact-with others situation, you need to take that into account for you and your family/friends as any of us could be carriers into our home environments.
Taking all the personal precautions in whatever you decide to do is of course the only answer we can give, with each of us having minds and inclinations to do as we normally do, but live in a kind of limbo with the variety of changes that are suggested.
