Given today’s announcement may be obvious but I’m 7 years post FCR and bloods good. Question, are we in the vulnerable group and should socially isolate for 12 weeks. Stated at press conference vulnerable with chronic conditions and mentioned leukaemia.
Thanks

Our age, degree of immunocompromise and whether we are in treatment will determine our degree of vulnerability, but yes we would fall into the vulnerable group for the corinavirus infection risk - just as we are for flu and pneumonia, which are also potentially fatal illnesses.
Given you are 7 years post FCR with good blood counts, I would expect that your risk could well be lower than it was when you were in watch and wait (age influence allowing), particularly if your immunoglobulins are healthy.
Yes, I wondered this being 4 years post FCR and generally healthy and not in the 70 plus group. Reading AussieNeil response makes me happier but I understand that I’m still at risk as is the whole population.
I live alone, I am retired which for once is a benefit! I live in a semi rural area another benefit. I’ve cancelled all my social engagements and will be at a distance in any conversation with the neighbours. But I will go out on walks, I will go to the supermarket (been wearing gloves there and using their smart shop system for a while) until I’m told otherwise.
I will cocoon myself in my car for essential journeys.
I’m due a watch and wait check up next week if the appointment goes ahead and will ask the question.
I read today that the NHS is to write to all at risk patients.
I’ve been through chemotherapy and know how important it is to live life with extra care. This I must do again.
I saw my oncologist yesterday for a 3 month visit. Currently I am at ~14 months on Venetoclax, and although my numbers are looking good (total white cell count and platelets are still a little low), my oncologist encouraged me stay at home. She said I wasn't AS susceptible as I was prior to starting treatment, but she didn't want me taking any chances.
