'Morning Wilm!

I will leave the Ib effects to the Ib masters!

It important to remember the other causes of stomach "problems". You dont specify - is it diarrh, pain, bloating etc?

It occurs to me that as we get our "Immune" treatments - that we may develop immune issues - unrelated, such Gluten sensitivity or even lactose intolerance. Can think why - but... it is important not to automatically assume all symptoms are treatment or CLL related.

Life does get more complex. Uncertainty prevails. It's this journey we are on... for which this Forum is such an amazing resource.

Best wishes

Thank you. I've had intestinal issues for years. They have just been worse since I started the Ibrutnib.

Take care

Hi Wilm,

I’ve been on Ibrutinib since Oct 2016 and had a lot of intestinal issues (diarrhea and bloating) when started. Now three years later, the diarrhea has subsided however I am constantly bloated and the bloating is very uncomfortable. I’ve learned to live with it and I find some foods aggravate my intestine more than others so am more conscious of what I eat.

I don’t know what intestinal issues you are having, however hope you will feel better.

Thank you, and the bloating is one of my biggest problems. It doesn't seen to matter what I eat. I knew the diarrhea was one of the common side effects. I gained quite a but if weight when I first went on it, and I am not really a big eater. Thanks for your . And we'll wishes.

Take care

Hi Wilmafl,

I've had stomach problems for many years, due to too much acid. (I take Ranitidine regularly, and that helps.)

About a month after starting Imbruvica, my stomach pains and bloating became much worse. They usually start about 2 hours after a meal.

Sorry to say, I haven't found any easy answers, other than adjusting my diet to plain food.. I still take Ranitidine which helps but doesn't work so well..

I presume you've discussed it with your doctors but not found any remedies that have helped?

I had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy to check for other causes, but these were ok, apart from a lot of bile in the stomach, (probably because I've had my gall bladder removed). So the doctors assume my symptoms are due to Ibrutinib aggravating existing problems..

After a year on Ibrutinib, my dose was reduced, and things got a lot better, but that isn't appropriate for everyone..

I hope you find something that helps you..

Paula.

Thank you Paula. The same thing happened to me. I also got testing. I just reduced my dose today. I'm hoping this will help. Thank you again, Take care
