Severe Cold Symptoms

I am close to starting CLL treatment. This cold has just completely rendered me useless. Been over two weeks, non stop coughing, can't sleep at night, usual aches and pains/weakness but more severe than I've ever experienced, I feel like i'm also experiencing hallucinations. Not sure what I'm asking other than comments. Feel like total crap, there I got it out. Haha,

Par3, I hope you are seeing a Dr. and getting your respiratory situation under control. We with CLL have a tougher time with any virus or bacterial illness because of the weakened immune system. So, if you are dealing with an infection, getting it tended to asap is important because it can become pneumonia.

Sorry you are feeling so poorly--and i appreciate you description as apt!

Hoping you are getting the medical care you need---an antibiotic might be called.

Thanks for the reply. I saw my GP yesterday. No antibiotics. Did get a chest X-ray. I just feel so weak/lousy. I think I got it from my granddaughter. I've learned my lesson. When theres stuff going around, stay away. Just feel horrible, hope it goes away soon.

I had a very bad cold a few weeks ago, which turned into an upper respiratory infection. I finally went to the walk in clinic for relief. I told them about my cll and I’m taking Imbruvica daily. The doc prescribed augmentin which I checked doesn’t interfere with the Imbruvica. I also took robitussin dm night time cough syrup, even during the day, I needed the rest. It worked. After a few days, I bought generic brand tussin dm max, which doesn’t make me sleepy or restless, just gets rid of the cough. And also generic halls menthol cough drops.

Check in with your doctor, you need to take something to help you rid this and feel better!

I've got Robitussin, Musinex, Halls going and its taking some of the bite out of the cold. But into 2 weeks now and I'm not that close to feeling normal. When you have CLL this all new on how you react to illness/infection. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
