I am off to Scotland for the CLLAN meeting of CLL advocacy organizations from around the world where I am privileged to serve on the steering committee. Let me know if you have pressing questions for other advocates. Then, I switch gears and will attend iwCLL with press credentials. iwCLL is much smaller than ASH or ASCO but it only about CLL so every talk is on CLL and all the attendees are all focused on CLL. It means I can't really skip any sessions, so very little down time to do any interviews, but we will try. If you have burning questions, let me know and I'll do my best. It's going to be a sprint for over a week, but I am blessed to be able to go Scotland for the first time and catch up with friends from around the world. Though I won't be sampling haggis, I will break my vegan ways to sample some amazing Scottish salmon. Life is good. Stay strong. Brian Koffman

I will be there too, I'm speaking at the other workshop on 19th September. No haggis or salmon for me though
Look forward to meeting you

Enjoy my home country - though it sounds like you'll have little time to sample a wide range of its 'best bits'.
Hope both conferences are really helpful - and thank you in advance for feeding back their 'best bits'.
PS There's various versions of 'vegetarian haggis' now available - what exactly is in them apart from oatmeal and spices . . .?
Brian,
Although somewhat mundane, I am wondering if you could shed some general light for all of us on the safety of flight for a treated CLL patient, CAR T or otherwise. Are you still on an antifungal/antibiotic cocktail?
You log so many thousands of miles in an enclosed space with hundreds of your “closest friends” with a significantly diminished immune system. My healthy friends fly to the south in winter and often arrive unwell or are a few days later.
Looking forward too your insights gleaned from this meeting. The coldest I have ever been was in Saint Andrews in January years ago.

One of my favourite places. My daughter lived there for 6 yrs while attending Veterinary medicine at the university of Edinburgh. I’ve been lucky to visit dozens of times and make great friends. If I could have taken time off work I would have gone also. Enjoy the meeting and the wonderful city.
I have so many questions lol. It I’m sure they will all get answered at some point
Best
