I'm 13q and had an enlarged spleen until FCR. Now it's back to normal size.

Not sure if that helps at all, but just thought I would add it.

It’s true 11q tends to lead to bulkier disease Scott but Trisomy 12 can also be a lumpy, bumpy presentation too. It’s hard to predict but 11q does seem to have a higher incidence.

Enlargement of the spleen comes with the territory in CLL and people can live quite happily for many years with pretty sizeable spleens. An average adult spleen is 11cm and mine was 20cm at treatment. The problems begin when it becomes so large that it causes discomfort and reduces appetite or begins to impact on platelet and Haemoglobin levels.

Rover, do you have a diagnosis of CLL because the reason people with chronic lymphocytic Leukaemia may have a swollen spleen is related to the nature of that blood cancer. It may not relate to your situation.

It’s not really appropriate to be a member of this community without a direct connection to CLL because the information as given above will not apply to you.

By the time I had FCR my spleen had pushed into my stomach so much that I couldn’t eat a full meal. 3 days after FCR my spleen was back to normal and my appetite was back.

My husband has 11q deletion, and he had an enlarged spleen as well as his appendix also became enlarged and his lymph nodes in that area got large as well........Ibrutinib took care of that after a year on the meds.....so it was true in his case....( smarty pants!) By the way, I waited for my flowers on Tuesday as I was your CLL girlfriend that day?

I’m Trisomy 12 and had an enlarged spleen also before treatment. I bought a size larger in my clothes so I could be comfortable. After treatment each time, my spleen became normal again. Best of luck. Sally
