Hi there. I just went to San Francisco for a week to visit and meet my first grandchild. I kept up with all the coming and going and did really well as far as energy. But when I got home the fatigue sickness hit me hard. I m finally starting to feel a bit better after being home for a week. Worth every minute with my family, but dang!!!

FATIGUE SICKNESS AFTER AIR TRAVEL/CLL
Do you get similar fatigue sickness after other big events?
Yes! Just takes longer to recover.
I suspect that you'll just have to learn to pace yourself as I did (or put up with the consequences for special events). It can be very frustrating, because you can feel fine at the time and then fatigue hits you hard later. You also gradually incorporate subconsciously that pacing process into your lifestyle and tend to forget about it, so when you can't or forget to pace yourself, you get a rude reminder that you don't have the stamina you used to have.
I found that ensuring my vitamin D level was in the normal range and regularly exercising helped.

Boy do I relate. When I travel, it takes a week to recover. If I do too much in a day, I can barely function the next day. I try to plan my day, with one activity. Some days I do two. When I plan three, I am toast.
