Hi Lola. Here in the States, research has discovered the many positive benefits of marijuana & cannibis oil. Medical marijuana is used for preventing some cancers, PTSD, anxiety, chronic pain, and is also beneficial for those who suffer with nausea from cancer treatment. It is great for joint pain, and the state I live in has passed a bill for legal marijuana that will eventually benefit many people. I have Sjogrens Syndrome, arthritis of the back & spine, & degenerating disk in my back in addition to CLL, and I have to tell you...I look forward to the day I will be prescribed legal marijuana.

In 2015 I smoked a joint and had a local relapse. I will stick to my wine!! Good luck :)

Well, I can’t help to think this stress has speeded up this CLL. It so scares me and I think I would take anything I’d if could be calm, stop stressing, quit worrying , my mine is so pre- occupied with this CLL I can hardly think straight. Yea, I would take Cannibus Oil in a minute!!

Mine does to and I ask my doctor if it was from having CLL and she said she wouldn’t think so because the swelling had gone down some but the right side hurts it is better then before because it hurt all the time and now it’s just off and on . And has anyone have a sore stomach I feel like I have done a work out and I haven’t done anything to cause the soreness a little worried about I told my cancer doctor she said to talk to my medical doctor

You have not mentioned if on treatment for CLL. I know imbruvica has joint pain as a side effect but just to ease your concerns see the doctor.

Sleeping on big towel placed on top of mattress & bedsheets is one way to not have to change soaking sheets multiple times a night. I would usually change my sleeping T-shirt 2-3 times a night when I was experiencing the CLL night sweats. Remember to stay very well hydrated when you are going through that phase. Also possible to become low on various electrolytes, even if you are rehydrating well with water. You may still have net loss of magnesium and other salts.

I would echo what Kim has said. My drenching night sweats and weight loss were the things that drove me to see doctor and be diagnosed with CLL. At the time was dealing with a lot of stress. I started taking cannabis oil about two week or so after diagnosis and drenching night sweats stopped. After about two months I stopped taking cannabis oil and still do not have drenching night sweats, just occasional dampness in hair at night, but not enough to keep me awake from evaporative cooling. I don't know if the cannabis oil reduced my stress levels and stopped night seats or rather just reliving stress did the trick. I do think stress level played a part in night sweats and maybe even onset of CLL. May God Bless you and comfort you.

Yes mention this to your doctor Mimi. It’s a significant B symptom but just a thought...have you had your thyroid function checked? Hyperthyroidism is associated with excessive sweating too.

Best wishes and keep calm!

I used to recommend a venal cover for the mattress (still use one because I have pets) so only the sheets and mattress pad get wet, and a few oversized cotton towels next to the bed to sleep on, as it's easier to change them out in the middle of the night. Someone on another site recommended a couple of good cotton terry cloth bath robes instead. Not perfect for really hot nights, but for other nights.....

A couple of people have mentioned that they use the cooling pads made for dogs. I don't know whether there is a comparable product for people, but whatever works, sometimes. I keep meaning to look at them at the pet store.

I hope your life becomes less stressful! I can't imagine that not helping, also.

Oh thanks so much for your support! I’m going to look for some cool natural made sheets. I heard you could find cool gel pillows? Going to keep looking!

Peace

I understand what you're going through. I had a lot of night sweats before treatment too. I just would wipe down with towels.. And try to sleep!!! I have a ceiling fan and another one on the bedside table.. These help.

Also have been through divorce and know the stress of it all.

But do see you're haematologist soon .. Especially with the enlarged nodes.. Also see your GP local doc! To test for anything else which may be amiss.

Let's us know how it goes.

Night sweats are really debilitating. I found that sleeping on a large bath towel helped.

All best.

My night sweats would wake me up when they were starting. We keep our house pretty cold in the winter. When I wake up with one starting I just get up and walk around for a few minutes and it will at least keep the bed from getting wet. At times it has just shocked the sweat in mid cycle. Of course in the summer this doesn’t work as well! I have gotten up and gone and opened the door to the freezer and just stood there. There are cooling mattress pads out there I think, but haven’t tried one. In treatment now, so they are gone thank goodness! Best of luck to you.

I also suffer from night sweats Mimi. Through trial and error there are times I find some relief. We all need to find what works for us..try everything and anything and don’t listen to anyone questioning your choices ! We are all different. My current remedy is fresh organic Tumeric Juice (a thumb sized piece) , twice a day in apple juice and I keep the temp in my bedroom very cool. I also have 2 goose feather duvets on my bed , a summer one and a winter one . I use both /one or the other / none depending on how bad the sweats are !
