Dr. Ian Flinn, Sarah Cannon CC, Nashville

Here is a list of doctors patients have recommended, just a starting point.

I read it as 'a drinky or ten'. Realised it is Kentucky or Tennessee.

Hello, I live in KY and drive 2 1/2 hours to see Dr. Flinn in Nashville. He is a great doc and it is a trial site. He practices with Tennessee Oncology at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.

I also would highly recommend Dr. Flinn. He was my "expert" until I opted for a clinical trial at OSU. I think Dr. Flinn is one of the best.

I went to an Oncologist/Hematologist in Glasgow, Ky. Satisfied with him. He put me on Imbruvica. Not too far away from me, and when I'm ill I don't like to travel too far, but, that's just me.

I was going to keep Flinn as a secondary doc, but I am in a trial now. I have a local doc that I keep updated in case of emergency.

Dcamp, If you wish to have Flinn as your expert, secondary hemo/oncologist, there is another Tennessee Oncology Dr. who has just made the list of "experts"--Dr. Bi. Both Flinn and Bi are in Nashville, but at different hospitals.

Dcamp, I found that Dr. Ian Flinn in Nashville is a CLL specialist from the information on this site, even though I live in the greater Nashville,Tennessee area, I didn't know about him. I was diagnosed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2014 and was on watch and wait. I was generally not happy with the knowledge I encountered there nor the commitment to help me. The more I learned about SLL/CLL, the more I realized I needed a second opinion from a CLL specialist, and got one from Dr. Flinn. I was offered a clinical trial and now am receiving ACP-196 twice a day (oral BTK inhibitor) since September 8, 2016. As of my last CT scans, I have had an 88% response and am doing so much better. It pays to arm yourself with knowledge. No one has as much "skin in the game" as you do! I would encourage you to see Dr. Flinn at Tennessee Oncology in Nashville. TN.

I see Dr. Awan at The James Cancer Center in Columbus. There is a whole team of CLL specialists & they conduct many trials. I drive 2 1/2 hours from NE Ohio and think it is very worth it.
