Self test for hemoglobin levels
Hemoglobin : Self test for hemoglobin levels - CLL Support
Hemoglobin
Welcome Navigator, I see this is your first post. Could you perhaps explain a little more about your question please as I'm unsure what you're asking.
Newdawn
I get it run by my hospital lab... more accuracy and consistancy...

If you have a CLL diagnosis, my understanding is you'll no longer be able to donate blood or any other organs (except the corneas).
I'm unaware of a method to home test haemoglobin.

Newdawn
Navigator, Newdawn and Chris are both correct. While it is thought that there is little risk of passing on CLL via blood donations, the only donation accepted from CLL patients is the corneas, as these are the only donatable parts without blood and hence without blood cancer.
There are sensor based ways of estimating haemoglobin, including looking at the colour of your conjunctival sac (what you see when you pull out your bottom eye lid), but these aren't anywhere near accurate enough to replace the reading provided by a blood test.

If you have CLL they refuse your blood. My Cll was diagnosed because my lymph nodes came up and I had cll related side effects after donating.
When I contacted the blood donation service, I was told they don't take our blood because of the adverse effects caused to the blood donor.
Do inform them.
Best wishes
