CLL sucks, but I am glad you have had 9 years of watch and wait and are still early stage.

In those 9 years there have been amazing treatment breakthroughs.

You are so lucky. I thought this was a no big deal cancer. Had chemo and it didnt work. CLL is back.

Hi Fenway

I hope be now that you have been encouraged with some of the answers you received to your post. However I quite understand how hard it is to go through the FCR and find that remission is so short lived.

Thank heavens the newer options are available to you, that a few short years ago were non existant. Please keep in touch when you feel up to it and let us know how you get on.

Wishing you only the best results and strength to meet the next challenge.

Good luck

Good to hear. I am recently diagnosed in early stages and hoping it stays that way. Whilst always trying to stay positive it's a worry that it won't stay like this for years so always encouraging to hear people who manage years without any treatment. Long may it continue.

Hi Veramac50

Welcome, I hope it helps you to be part of our community. You say the day of diagnosis was the worse day of your life, as I suspect it was for many. However having been diagnosed 9 years ago, I and I'm sure many of our community will be interested in the journey your cll had taken you on. Perhaps you are really knowledgable so can share or help others here, or maybe you are looking for information.

Whatever your reason I am so pleased you found us and I hope you find it helpful to be part of this rather special family.

Best wishes

Sorry you are having a bad day. The only way I get through this is trying to remain positive and expressing gratitude where I can. Any cancer diagnosis stinks, and living with W&W feels like you have a ticking time bomb next to you, but not progressing past early stage in 9 years is pretty fantastic.

Hi veramac50, so sorry you have CLL. I now had it two years and early stage. I hope I will be on wait and watch for 9 years. You give me hope. Please stay positive. I need people like you that show there is hope. Have you changed anything with yourself over this time, like diet or different eating habits? Mitch

Hi Veramac50,

This CLL is not what we expected to hear of our health before being diagnosed, but you seem to be doing great with 9 years of W & W and it continues to remain in the early stages.

In the past 2 years since my diagnosis, I have heard some sad remarks/stories of people who can't seem to deal with having CLL. You seem to be one of the positive attitude people, I hope I'm reading you right!

I watched my Mother dealing with the same CLL that I have, she had it for 9 years with some dreadful treatments, but she was almost 80 years old. September 18th, yesterday would have been her 91st birthday. She was a beautiful Southern Saintly Lady. The treatment for CLL has improved drastically in 9 years and improves every day.

I wish you the best and hopefully your W&W will continue to be just that, and remain in the early stages. When life deals us lemons, the best thing to do is to make lemonade. Make the best of what God has given us. Each day is a blessing and I, for one, will enjoy every day, as long as possible.

Keep the positive attitude and continue to enjoy life.

I was going strong for 10 years with CLL very early stage CLL. But since this spring I got a lot of complications with my spleen, which was growing. I am starting to have the Ibrutinib in a few days. Should have been earlier, one month ago, but due to other illnesses had to wait with starting... I am congratulation you and hope it will stay like this for a long long while...
