I use World First. Price varies according to single trip or yearly multitrip, geographies you wish to cover and they have three levels of cover.
They were the cheapest I could find by quite a way.
I had the superior cover and added extra for greater than 31 days travel at a time. A year for my wife and I (declared hypertension and CLL fir me) was £182 for a year. That was rest of world excluding USA, Canada and Carribean.
Depends where you're going... within Europe (the EU) EHIC Plus is very cheap... won't cover existing conditions, but anything else (accidents, new sudden health problems).
My previous insurance company also refused to insure me and l have found a great company who deal with serious medical conditions. As well as my CLL, I've had a brain tumour and I also have a genetic condition so I'm not the insurance persons most favourite client! The company is J.D. Travel Consultants. For one years travel cover in Europe for myself and husband who has some health issues it cost under £300 for the year. They also provide single trip cover. The cover covers us for ten million pounds so it's a high level of cover. Hope this is of some help to you.
The best I could find is Get Going Travel Insurance through Medical Travel Compared website. They quoted £40.35 for single trip to Germany. I am in remission after B&R 15 months ago. Also on meds for hypertension & high cholesterol.
I'm on wait and watch, but Staysure insurance for a 6 day trip to New York cost me £260! My bank health insurance wouldn't touch me with a barge pole. When I was discussing the cost of my insurance with my haemotologist he told me the if would have been about $40,000 for pneumonia treatment in New York. However we seem to be penalised for having a health condition even if it's under control.
World first are very competitive. Just taken out 2 weeks in Madeira in June next year- I take Ibrutinib and most insurers will not touch me. £50 from World first- this is the second time I have used them. Fill in the online firm for a quote.
Yellow fever is no longer a requirement thankfully. My 10 year one ran out a couple of years ago so if they did introduce it I would be in a difficult position!
Just an organisational thing but do you use Pinterest to store these various bits of information? I find it invaluable. A great filing system of useful website links
