A Walk In The English Countryside
Nice picture..
Needs a horse drawn hay wain, and the mill should never have been painted white.!!

interesting reply Kwenda ?
Technically Flatford Mill is behind you as you took this photograph today..
However the famous painting by Constable named ‘ Flatford Mill ‘ was painted in exactly the view as in your photograph. The mill was owned by Constable’s father, who was a successful businessman, and his father’s allowance then enabled Constable to pursue his vocation for painting.
‘ The Hay Wain is a painting by John Constable, finished in 1821, which depicts a rural scene on the River Stour between the English counties of Suffolk and Essex. It hangs in the National Gallery in London and is regarded as "Constable's most famous image" and one of the greatest and most popular English paintings.’
The building in the photograph was, according to Constable’s painting, a kind of ‘dirty white’ but this rather stark application of white paint does jar with the original Constable painting.
I am not sure but is Flatford Mill now part of The National Trust.??

That's Willy Lott's Cottage... it was always white...

Always white but a dirty white as it was a lime wash, from chalk.
The modern white paint being based from titanium dioxide is just too white and not true to the history of the building.
For some Kentish villages on these historical buildings they have recognised this and now do not use titanium dioxide white but tone it down with just a lttle grey and other colours.
