When you started imbruvica....when did the leukocytes start going up and how high did they go????? When did they start receding.....thanks

The drug label states...

Lymphocytosis ( raised lymphocyte count)

Upon initiation of IMBRUVICA, an increase in lymphocyte counts (i.e., ≥ 50% increase from baseline and above absolute lymphocyte count of 5,000/mcL) occurred in 77% of patients in the CLL study. The onset of isolated lymphocytosis occurs during the first month of IMBRUVICA therapy and resolves by a median of 23 weeks (range 1 – 104+ weeks).

So one week to 104 weeks... varies wildly.... but this is normal for this drug as it clears the lymph nodes... it is NOT an indication of disease progression.

I can share with you my blood count before and after the treatment. I started Imbruvica on April 3, 2014 and I live in US.

RBC 4.56 (4.40-6.00)

Platelet 166 (150-400)

Neutrophil 13 (49-64)

Lymphocyte 68 (26-46)

My WBC doubled in 2 weeks and headed back down just under 2 weeks after that.

If you have prominent lymph nodes -- neck or armpits -- you will notice them physically softening as the white count in your blood goes up. It's them being flushed out of the nodes and back into the blood.
