My daughters portal vein wasnt visible on an ultra sound - less than 48 hours of that ultra sound she was in hospital with Pseudomonas sepsis, liver failure, ascites and cholangitis.

Does anyone know if there are any chances that any of those (includong sepsis) could of been caused by the portal vein not being visable? Her portal vein has always been visable other than that one time she was extremely poorly

Hi BA0619 I am not medically trained so can't answer that question for you. What hospital are you with and I can point you in the direction of the medical team that can answer your question. Lois x
