Good morning, my son has been diagnosed with biliary atresia, but his diapers have green poop, what are the reasons for the color of these poop?

What can give this color to the poop beyond bile liquid?

My daughter's diapers were the same, but as much as we want to believe that it's green, this is not truly green poop. it's chalky and pasty, the only thing that can give your poop a truly green color will be the bile the liver produces. Once they do the kasai procedure for your son, and have his liver drain through the intestines you will see the true colors and the difference in them. My son was the same and we couldn’t understand as his nappies seemed normal to us.

However, he’s now almost 6 months post kasai and his nappies are a very different colour.

Good afternoon, the surgery went well, but after two days an epigastric hernia appeared, the doctors do not want to correct this problem for now, because the kasai was a success. Do you know more cases like this?

My son has the same issue but they think he has a syndrome called alagille!
