“Faulty gene” is the one to blame?

Last March, scientists from King’s College publish the results of a study linking a “faulty gene” with CLD. To be more exact:

“Using the latest gene sequencing technology, the team at King’s discovered that 12 patients with CLD had a mutation in both copies of the TJP2 gene, which means it doesn’t produce the TJP2 protein.”

One of the authors explained this finding will help doctor to diagnose and start treatment early.
