Are you worried about your cholesterol going up or the fact that your BP is down and you are worried that somehow your C is up because of the BP going down!!! I assume you are on some type of BP medication, which means that your GP should be giving you advice on your C as well. Does he want you to go on statins, if so, see if you can change your regime of diet and exercise first and reduce the processed food, alcohol and if you smoke, quit. If you have done all that and things are still not improving see if you have any underlying health problem such as arthritis or any other joint problem (cholesterol is a healer to the body and if you have any underlying physical problem your levels will be up to compensate as they work to heal). Will all this help? Go well

I wonder if you have changed anything on your diet since taking the tablets?

There is a lot of evidence that cutting down on carbohydrates can reduce cholesterol levels and help you lose weight. I know we've been told to eat low fat, but this seems to have been a terrible mistake. So many low fat foods contain sugar which is very bad for your health.

To reduce your cholesterol you also need to think about introducing certain foods into your diet as well as taking some out. The ones to introduce are oats, pulses - lentils especially good, oily fish and almonds. You can find lots more info about this as well as recipes to try on my website fromthehealthyheart . I used these recipes when I was lowering my cholesterol last year. What also helped a lot was starting to do a brisk, 30 minute walk 5 times a week. At first I only managed 2 -3 times a week but then began to feel fitter so managed more. I think the exercise is key to keeping cholesterol down. Good luck
