Asked a question yesterday regarding the low carb high (saturated) fat movement in Sweden. Has anyone seen the Diet Doctor website?

Yes, I have and I find it a bit disturbing as it is the complete opposite of everything we have ben told. Also, it is not without controversy in Sweden, as I read that the doctor who devised it for her diabetic patients nearly lost her licence to practise.

I looked at the video on the Diet doctor website,

dietdoctor.com/category/sci...

Has anyone wathched the video?Dr. Eenfeldt makes some pretty appealing science based arguments.

I looked up some information on the dietician advocating low carbohydrate, high fat diets. Her name is Annika Dahlqvist. There was a controversy regarding her approach.

This is a paragraph from her website:

"On 16 January 2008 the National Swedish Board of Health and Welfare came to the decision that my dietary programme was in accordance with “Science and Well-Tried Experience”.

Look up 'The Great Cholesterol Con' by doctor Malcolm Kendrick (I'm reading it for the third time). He has some very interesting things to say about the controversy. All his research is verifiable and accessible on 'pubmed' for free.

The 'everyone knows what causes heart disease' just is not good enough. To keep trotting out the same old tired dietary advice that just isn't working is the definition of madness - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

In the meantime I'll keep banging on:

Show me the science that definitively proves the connection between saturated fat/cholesterol and heart disease and I'll swallow the miracle that is statin!
