66-year-old male with high blood pressure. Have been on statins for 5 years or more which, unfortunately, did not shield me against a TIA last month. Statin dose has been increased (from 10 to 40mg), and Lercanidipine dose doubled (from 10 to 20 mg), and now also on Clopidogrel 75mg. One month on experiencing dizzy spells in the afternoon and occasional sense of dullness or grogginess. Which of these drugs is likely to be cause of this? Any help appreciated.

Can you help with advice on side effects of drugs for high blood pressure?
I am afraid you need to review your medication and dosage with your GP, medicine do react differently with different people therefore you need your own dosage and medication.
TIA's are more common in people with raised Homocysteine. Raised Homocysteine is common in people with LOW B12. Raised cholesterol is often linked to low thyroid.
I think you need some basics tested - B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD and correct thyroid testing. GP's love rushing to the Prescription pad !
I used to take blood pressure pills and statins. The statins caused mental fogginess and muscle pain, and the blood pressure pills caused anxiety. If you are feeling light-headed and dizzy, your blood pressure pill dosage is likely too high and needs to be reduced.
You should do what I did, change your diet and lifestyle and lose weight - that way you won't need any of these pills.
