Cholesterol Results

I have received my latest cholesterol results and have managed to reduce my reading from 7.5 to 5.3.

I have a drs appointment tomorrow to discuss what I do next. I am pleased with the result but it has not been easy and feel that I cannot sustain it long term. The constant checking and worrying about what i can eat is a nightmare.

Hello,

Excellent had work in reducing cholesterol. What did you do different between the two rests to reduce the total cholesterol?

Please ask your doctor about risk score for the set of cholesterol blood test results.

You can ask your doctor about LDL, triglyceride and remnant cholesterol?

"Remnant cholesterol is the amount of cholesterol in a form of very low-density lipoproteins, called remnant lipoproteins. It can be measured by taking the value of total cholesterol minus the HDL and LDL values"

Please remember you need cholesterol for human body to function. Working towards man made numbers is a constant worry as you say?

Is it food or medication bring the numbers down?

Take care.

Hi,

I reduced my cholesterol through diet alone. I cut out as much saturated fat as possible and started having a benecol drink every day.

I used the BHF website for recipe ideas.

I was quite strict with myself which I don't think is sustainable in the long term. My dr said my cholesterol is the lowest it has been in the last 13 years. I am having another test in 6 months to see if it remains low.

Not what you're looking for?
