WHAT IS THE PERFECT DIET TO RID YOURSELF OF ATHEROSCLEROSIS..

Hi all. So confused with all the literature on heart disease.. what to eat and what to eat. The million dollar question??? So many conflicting answers. We can all live in hope that all the plaque in our arteries would just disappear. Now that would be nice wouldn't it? Every man and his dog has the answer. Which one is correct though?

Morning Marz. I have read all of sos007 posts. Very very informative. When ever I do get angry with my diagnosis I always read his posts for inspiration and do try and follow. Brilliant! Having some more bloods done end of month so hopefully some improvement in them. I do not anymore have anything white only good carbs and not too many of them. My aim is to stabilize the plaque and for it not to grow. I am trying my very best. Marz have a great Sunday. And thankyou so very much for taking the time out to reply.

Sounds as if good things are happening. How is your Homocysteine level ?

Hi Marz. I cannot see on my blood test a Homocysteine result?

Not usually done in the NHS I'm afraid. I lived in Greece for 15 years until recently where they understand the importance of testing. When researching plaque before the dawn of statins - homocysteine was also found along with cholesterol. When B12 is low homocysteine can be raised and can be a marker for heart issues and strokes - I have read. Homocysteine levels are acceptable in single figures. Taking the B vitamins can help to reduce levels - best to test first before supplementing.

Lowering Homocysteine can also help with lowering cholesterol - which happened to me. I self-inject B12 & take a good B Complex. I also have a thyroid issue which can also affect the metabolism of cholesterol in the liver.

I think we know that it is rarely one thing but a collection of complex actions within the body that result in symptoms.

You need to find the clinical evidence base and there is only one diet that can reverse heart disease and that is a whole food plant based plan, as demonstrated by Drs Dean Ornish and Esselstyn. Go to nutritionfacts.org which will provide both the evidence and the way forward. It does mean no animal foods, animal fats, dairy, eggs, fish but you can eat as much as you like of whole grains, legumes (peas, beans and lentils), vegetables especially green leaf, and fruit with a light sprinkle of nuts and seeds, supplementing with VitaminsB12 and D3 and algae sourced Omega 3. This works and it will be a lifestyle change not a short term diet, you will feel amazing. It also works for obesity and type 2 diabetes. If you are tempted with other diets ask for the evidence base and proof it reverses heart disease. Good luck

Sorry but that is a load of rubbish

Slot of he's data is flawed

You can't reverse plaque if it's already there.

There has been . several studies since he brought he's book out.

You can slow or stop the progression if you eat right. There is no right way

Some people eat low carb high fat and others Mediterranean or whole food

If we could reverse plaque then it would be reported everywhere.
