Blue Crest are screening in my area. Is it worth paying to have these checks or would my annual well woman health check through my GP which includes blood tests cover the same tests? I have also recently had an ECG at my surgery which came out as "borderline" and didn't seem worth investigating?? Any guidance on this would be welcome as I have been experiencing irregular heartbeat and an intermittent pain in the l/h side of my chest. Just joined today so a newbie!!

Blue Crest
Hi,
Four years ago I went for both life line screening and blue crest , I wanted to fully understand my problems. When I gave the copy of my reports my GP just put it a side.
I also went for AAA in our area as well. Now I am looking to do Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm test, which can only be done at hospitals. There is a reason for this.
When you go for the full package there is value for money. There are many check in the package, GPs do not do it unless you end up in A&E!
One advantage with blue crest is you can call and ask for further explanation, the nurses who answer the call do not have the answers but will check with a doctor and call back.
Depending upon your age and budget you can give it a try.
Don't know what Blue crest is but it is worth getting either of the checks . Have a look at my last post hope it helps.
