This is my first post here. I am 53, have high cholesterol, history of familial heart problems and degenerative/congenital problems in lower back. Also have ankylosising spondylytis, inflammatory condition. Just started Lipitor yesterday. Scared about possible side effects(pain) because I already have lots of pain. Coming here for support and advice.

Most recent labs read: LDL 73, Direct HDL69, Cholesterol 257, Calc. LDL 173
Prescribed Lipitor 20 MG daily, do have family history of aortic rupture before age 55
I don’t think I have ever been given a vitamin D reading.
My Cholesterol reading 257 Ref. <-200mg/dL
My Calc LDL 173 Ref. <130mg/dL
Ok.
No. I am on methotrexate. Was on Humira, but have discontinued due to side effects. Lots of muscle spasms. DDD and scoliosis. No pain killers, NDAIDS, etc.Occasionally muscle relaxers
Thanks. I have recently started going to naturopathic nutritionist who did suggest CBD oil. Docs (rheumatologist, PCP) are against it.
So much going on, and having trouble figuring out what to do. Lots of information to read through.
Hi Catchych51, as you know that cholesterol is very prominent these days, you need to take special care for you. It is always better to treat such problem with natural methods like healthy diet including fiber rich food combined with a light workout as recommended by Dr. Janet who is a nutrition, health and fitness expert. All the best.
