I found unfortunately I cannot take red yeasf as it causes same side effects as a statin. Wish you well.

I've heard of red yeast but I have never used it as I recall reading some negative side-effects. The vitamin C will help lower cholesterol without Lysine, but the Lysine itself will arrest the accumulation of additional plaques and potentially initiate the reversal of existing, accumulated plaque. Lysine is an amino acid which is a natural substance required by the body. There is no toxicity to it and therefore no side-effects, you can take it without concern.
