Pancreatitis follow on
That goes totally against what my GP said. First thing, avoid fat!
My GP wanted me to take medication five years ago for cholesterol and type 2. Life style change has helped me. No medication!
Some time medication can bring type 2?
I enjoy eating cheese, using butter, looking out for hidden sugar and free sugar. and so on.
Really don't know what to do. Had pain yesteday and feeling very bloated.
I'd like to think I would take my doctor's advice as he is aware of my problems
I discovered i was a diabetic in the same way .The pancreatitis was brought on by very high blood fats. Not nice .
What have you been advised to do re diet etc?
nothing as regards diet but i'm on 400mg bezafibrate and 80mg atorvastatin to keep the cholesterol and more importantly ,triglycerides under control.
I'm on 134mg Fenofibrate and 20mg Atorvastatin and 10mg rampiril and 1.25mg bisoprolol and lansoprazole
Hi Hansi
Sorry to hear about the pancreatitis and the lack of advice on diet. Doctors may not have the knowledge, or time, to give advice on food. I wonder if you could get a referral to a dietician? Having several small meals, rather than any large meals through the day, might be helpful, hopefully putting less strain on your digestion.
Hope you can find a way to manage this condition.
I am seeing a nurse on Thursday and she will be giving me advice abiut a suitable diabeic diet. In the meantime I have had a bad bout of excess stomach acid which has now cleared but I lost about half a stone in a week. So that's a plus!
