That is nearly 2 hours per session, what is your starting heart rate? what is your heart rate before and after cool down period? This is very important!

You have achieved weight loss and waist loss (from previous post), good work.

I try to do 210 minutes seven days a week on the tread mill and with food intake control I an controlling my blood numbers and weight as mentioned in the previous post. I have no target only healthy life.

Wow thought I was being 'good' doing 30 mins on treadmill and I only walk fast! But also enjoy spinning yoga and fitsteps. I'm now on blood pressure tablets (suddenly shot up) and plant sterols for high cholesterol. Dr wants me on statins but resisting! I eat well have lost a stone so far so weight now ok. So want to get off BP tabs as go dizzy. Life is good I'm doing it 'my way'

As Frank Sinatra's song I also do it my way. My GP is not happy for me refusing statin and other medication. Only time will tell. My daily routine, walking to gym and back 30 minutes, 30 minutes in the gym.

So far this is helping me to stay away from medication, I will be 70 in December. Food and drinks intake control in helping me to enjoy quality life, I am not looking for longer life but healthy life.

We have a lot in common Bala I've always resisted medication but got scared when BP went up. Like you just want to be healthy for as long as poss. feel so much better taking control looking forward to summer. Good luck keep us informed how u do.

Most of the machines heart rate are not very accurate, this is just an indication, try different machines different days to get an average check or buy you own to check the heart rate. An explanation was given to me by a sport science professor on heart rate checking in the gym.

Checking the heart at the very beginning, at the start of cool down and at the end of cool down. After few minutes of cool down the heart rate should come back to normal.

Here is an example, after walking to the gym for 15 minutes, the average starting heart rate is 80, after 30 minutes on tread mill it goes up to 128 (60%) increase, I do not take the heart rate more than 60-70  %. After 5 minutes of cool down the heart rate come down to 90.
