Thanks for telling us I've been prescribed vit D 3 and told the Dr that I took them when it wasn't sunny, he said no to take them every day. I shall be most interested to see what others say.

The warfarin seems to be effected for the good as I now am taking less than I did, early days though. Keep well. Terjo

Not a lot of point in telling me about a programme on Monday evening at 6.39am on the Tuesday! Maybe down to BT.....AGAIN!

Yes, well, HealthUnlocked only sends out daily email summaries each morning, so if people post zero-day announcements, most people won't see them on time.

It's repeated on 4seven 2:30am-2:55am (25 minutes) Wed 9 Sep if you have a freeview/freesat recorder. It's probably also on channel4.com on-demand.

You can watch all channel 4 programmes on catch up on their website.

I asked my GP for a vitD blood test - I was within 'normal range'. I do take a supplement to help absorption of calcium for osteoporosis but was advised to be careful as I was warned that our bodies cannot process or eliminate excess vitD so if the body doesn't utilise it, it can build up in the body and cause kidney problems.

This is exactly my point. Supplements added willy nilly without evidence of deficiency can be dangerous, especially if taken with a cocktail of prescribed medication which many oldies are.
