People taking statins may have been reassured by Rory Collins' reassurances re statin side effect. That is until he revealed he'd been less than thorough in his research, ie he hadn't done any!

Here's an update:

You will probably find he is a major share holder in a statin company.

Every time i`m at the doctors they try to get me to take them.

Guess it all comes down to risk factors again. Have to weigh up the risk/benefit ratios for all meds and decide if you are happy with the results. Don't personally have any issues with taking statins if they keep my cholesterol levels acceptable - never been that high, but family history and stent mean long term rsik of atherosclerosis is unacceptable without statins, at least as far as I am concerned. All meds obviously have side effects, but then again so does getting older!

Getting older is better than the alternative, though!
