I have taken CoQ10 together with my statins for many years. Cannot say it made any difference to the way I felt but I did it because I had read that ubiquinone (CoQ10) is one of our most important essential nutrient sand taking statins can reduce the body's absorption of this.

The adult human body pool of CoQ10 has been reported to be 2 grams, and requires replacement of about 0.5 gram per day. This must be supplied by a supplement or dietary intake. Synthesis decreases progressively in humans above age 21, and the average ubiquinone content of the western diet is less than 5 mg/day. Thus, Co Q10 supplementation appears to be the only way for older people to obtain their daily need of this important nutrient.

In addition to its critically important role in energy production, CoQ10 has a possibly even greater role within the mitochondria as an anti-oxidant, with a free-radical quenching ability perhaps 50 times greater than that of vitamin E.

I think this explains enough for me

"Primary dietary sources of CoQ10 include oily fish (such as salmon and tuna), organ meats (such as liver), and whole grains. Most people get enough CoQ10 through a balanced diet, but supplements may help people with particular health conditions"

I will get mine from eating food.
