Does anyone know good doctor ?

Hi all, I would like to ask if anyone could recommend a good doctor who is easy to talk to and specialist in these blood pressure and cholesterol things? I would like to see a specialist and I don't mind paying a little bid if they have private surgery some where.

KarinaN, I do not think that is ethical to name or recommend any medical people on this site. You should visit your GP who will refer you to a specialist consultant either private or NHS.

Good doctor, GP or private? I am afriad NHS process has to to followed!

Are you able to see a different doctor in yuor GP practice?

First step for cholesterol and blood pressure is to change life style and going to gym may help.

Have you had any blood test done?

Hi all, thanks for your help. I have NOT good communication with my GP. I am worried about my cholesterol and blood pressure being high even though I am on medication for both of these issues. She is quite young and and thinks every thing is related to stress I have at work. For ex she asked me to buy a machine to monitor my blood pressure twice a day for 2 weeks. I did so and recorded readings morning and evening. When I went to see her, she didn't even look at my card! This is why I would like to meet a heart specialist in London. I will believe that she is right only if her opinion is confirmed by another more reliable doctor.

Hi,

Please take a look at Life Line screening, they offer a package. I have done one 2 years ago and doing another one next month. For me money very well spent. Their report is very good, The package do not do blood test but you can pay extra for blood tests, you get a printed paper with cholesterol test explanation of all other tests there and then. The report you get after the screening you can take it to your GP, you can ask for referral as well. You may see an advert for life line screening in tomorrow’s papers. Good luck.

Have you thought of changing your GP? Is there another Practice near you that you can visit? It is your right to change your GP at any time if you feel he/she is not doing what you feel is right for you. Ask your friends and family about their GPs and see if they can recommend one that will suit you. You shouldn't have to go down the Private route until all avenues are exhausted. Best of health to you.
