alternatives to CQC (UK)

so, I am attempting to complain about a really poor standard of care.

I have contacted the care provider directly, and they literally don't care. they hung up on me first time round, and when I tried again, they were like listen, we're not interested in what you have to say, stop bothering us.

CQC have proved absolutely useless. I have contacted them on a number of ocasions, only not to hear back

I guess, what I'm really wondering, what other good UK options are there for complaining?

I thought about the police, (because part of it is abuse from a family member,), but a lot of the other stuff is because staff simply don't care. medication miss use, no epi pen when required, cold food, said person left for hours without access to a drink, and even with the abuse issue, the response from the staff is, well, we don't care about it.

I have no knowledge of your grounds for complaint, but many complaints procedures are long winded. As I understand it CQC do not take up individual complaints. There is a patients advocacy group that deal with individual complaints and local health watch can advise on patients rights and addresses to contact to submit a complaint. Some CAB offices can advise also. Even solicitors can give you the info for making a complaint and many have a one matter free advice system.

Hi

Sorry to here your going through this

raise a safeguarding complaint with the adult-care team social care team at your local council

List the stuff wrong and keep pursuing it

Poor care comes from miss management by the care company

Normally not enough carers and the ones they got are being set unworkable rounds by planners

If you've raised it with the care company and getting nowhere this is your route to go down

get the complaints procedure from care home, they can’t not respond. Also whistle blowing as they seem to be ignoring policies and procedures such as adult safeguarding, health and safety, negligence if you are poa
