Hi everyone, it's such super weather again this morning after some really thick mist first thing. I sort of want to escape out into it, in case it goes away, but I'm a bit busy at home, it being Monday.
Wishing new members a very warm welcome to the Care Community, especially Splod who wrote such an energetic introduction and also a message of sympathy from us all for Catgirl1976 on her bereavement. Thinking of you Catgirl, and sending our warmest best wishes at this sad time.
I'm happy to report that my second covid jab was successfully given to me on Saturday morning. All went smoothly again this time and I seem, with my usual cast-iron constitution, not to have a single side effect again. I did joke with the nurse who gave the second dose, asking if I'd had the vaccine or some sterilised water but she assured me that it was the real deal! This time around didn't feel quite so emotional or dramatic, but very settling to know that I've received the full protection available so I can go forward in hope.
After that I spent my morning rummaging around charity shops looking for things to cut up for my scrap-booking. Oh how lucky was I? Nearly every charity shop had a plethora of 2021 calendars they haven't been able to sell as they were forced to be closed, and they are now heavily discounted. So I came home with a while pile of glossy pictures for future use, while hubby groaned to see yet more stacks of paper to clutter up my what is laughingly called a 'craft corner', but is swiftly taking up more acreage!
It was wonderful to be out and about in the sunshine, but I really did feel how unfit I've become and I really must urge myself to get out for as many short walks as possible and work my way back to better fitness, or I shall have to adopt the pseudonym of Puffing Billy!
I hope that everyone is having a good start to their week and that it continues in that vein.
Hi Callendersgal, what a beautiful day it is today. Wall to wall sunshine.
We had a good weekend and enjoyed seeing our friends in the garden. Lots of catching up to do so had a good natter.
I also wish new members a warm welcome and look forward to hearing from everyone as and when possible. Thinking of Catgirl too of course.
So pleased your second jab went well and with no ill effects. I had my second jab on Thursday and that was fine too.
Not been into charity shops as yet but it’s great you found some calendars for your scrap booking. Sounds as if you’re struggling to keep to your corner....lol.
Just waiting to have a smart meter fitted so hope that goes smoothly. I really must get fit too and will try harder.
Have a great week everyone and hopefully all enjoy some sunshine. Xxx
This morning before I went to get my prescription at the chemist I had a wander around Peacocks nearby just to get used to the shops again and everything was fine and no problems.
I have been enjoying walking every day throughout lockdown even when it was snow and ice even just a short walk to the co op and back.
Thanks for the sympathy message.
I am fine and have been out in the sunshine this morning and picked up my prescription and then met up with my friends in the park who offered their condolences and we sat down and had ice cream by the lake there!
Friday whilst I was at a short visit to Barry Island I had a think about why not do a couple of weeks of day visits instead of a couple of weeks away on holidays like we used to do years ago and decided that this week I will take the bull by the horns and do those visits as planned as the lesson is how its important to live for today and how tomorrow isnt guaranteed to anyone.
