Monday round up

Hi and a good Monday morning to you all,

Yet another week flew past last week and here I am, surprised once again that it's Monday already.

Have any of you made any small steps back towards a more normal life yet?

I've just taken a trip to Sainsburys and all the new safety measures in place are quite new to me, so a steep learning curve. What a lot's changed since I fled for the safety of my apartment at the start of the crisis. It still all feels very alien to me, but it was good to be out and about and it's one of several trips out that I've had over the past seven days. I even managed to visit the clothing department and bought a couple of summery tops to cheer myself up. Very handy for the holiday I'll be spending in 'Balconia' this year! Actually I don't even have a balcony, but I'm hoping we'll be able to take some riverside and shoreline walks and maybe find a quieter spot or two for a little picnic. I'm sure we'll get by and I'll have new tops to wear!

I made my own burger buns yesterday! And they were a great success! If nothing else, my baking skills have come on in leaps and bounds during the pandemic. Has anyone else honed up their cookery or baking skills as a result of spending more time at home? It's been a delicious journey for us, but one that's resulting in spreading waistlines, so it's going to have to be brought into check pretty soon!

I hope that any dads who read this had a good time yesterday on their special day. Not quite so many ways to be able to spoil you all at the moment, but I think the biggest thing is always to just be in touch with those people you love.

Hope this week is good for everyone, but remember we are here if it's not so good and you need a helping hand.🙏

Hi Callendersgal, I hope you’ll be ready for the heatwave that’s on the way. I do feel for you not having a garden and hope you can get out into the fresh air to somewhere quiet.

You’re doing well with trips to the supermarket. It’s a very strange experience but it’s the new normal.

Pete enjoyed his day yesterday and we both enjoyed afternoon tea organised by the family.

Have a lovely day. Stay safe. Xxxx😘🌈👍

Oh that was lovely for you yesterday sassy59! A really nice treat! Oh, don't remind me of the heatwave. I shall have to leave the apartment if it gets bad. It's fabulous in winter as so well insulated and cheap to run, energy-wise, but hot summer weather can be very trying. We do have lots of lovely green spaces here in the city, so I guess it's a case of finding one that's not too crowded and taking a good book and a flask of coffee! Hope your week's off to a good start! xxx👍🌈🙏🔆🔆

Good idea, find a nice quiet spot. All good here thank you. Grandson back to school on Thursday. Only four hours but hopefully all will be well. Xxx😘🌈🌞

Very best wishes to your grandson for his return to school. I expect it's a little bit of an anxious time, but I'm sure lots of children will be very glad to be able to go back. Is he excited? 🙏👍xxx
