Quotation for Thursday 18th June 2020

Good morning all,

My thoughts this morning are of fire. Last night there was a fairly major building fire just across the street from my apartment and there was, of course, much fuss and ado with emergency services arriving to deal with it. I felt really restless all evening, wondering if anyone had been seriously hurt, or lost their home, but it emerged later that it was not a home, but an outbuilding which burned down, and although one man had been treated on scene for burns and smoke inhalation, he was OK.

With no real expectation of finding a positive quotation on fire, I began to look and actually found one, which I think is really relevant to us all right now.

"What matters most is how well you walk through the fire."

Charles Bukowski, (1920-1994, an American poet and writer)

Isn't this what we've all had to do? Walk through fire? Something which has been painful, searing, unwelcome, dangerous and that's brought tears to the eyes on so many occasions?

I guess we are beginning to walk through the embers now, but whichever way we've managed it, we have shown the fortitude to walk through that fire and can now begin to emerge on the other side of it.

We should praise ourselves for that. It's taken courage!

Continue to take care everyone, and have a good Thursday.

I’m so pleased that nobody was badly hurt after the fire opposite your home. The quote today is very appropriate and yes we have all walked through fire and let’s hope we never have to do it again.

Thank you for being so thoughtful, finding such good quotes each day Callendersgal. Much appreciated.

Enjoy your day. Xxxx

Thanks sassy59, and I hope you have another good day today. It's a bit drizzly, overcast here but thankfully none of those storms which we were threatened with (so far anyway). Take care xxxx🌈🔆

I think we all get tested in life and yes, how we meet those challenges shows us who we are. We get to see our grit, determination, our courage and decency. Sometime we see our fear and wish we would do better next time.

Every challenge is a chance to step up. Be who you are. Be who you want to be. Don't fear challenges. They teach us more than any other thing in life.

Too often we fear fear, when we need to let it go; Channel our inner Indiana Jones!

Great quote. Thank you for inspiring us.

Wise words indeedAl10. We would all do better if we were able to have a rehearsal for all of life's challenges. (I've always said that about flat-pack furniture. We should get a first item to practice on for the real event!)

I think I shall make your final comment my challenge for today and channel my inner Indiana Jones!

Thanks for your post and wisdom! 😊👍🙏

I think we do kinda get rehearsals. Challenges on the Nursery Slopes before the big one? But yes, hindsight in any situation would be really handy.

I'm cheering you on with your Indiana mission.
