HAPPY EASTER!

Good morning everyone,

I’d like to start by sending Easter blessings to everyone who celebrates the occasion, whether that's as a matter of your faith, or in secular way. I hope you will all be able to find a way in which to pass the holiday pleasantly, even though we are all living through some strange times.

With Easter in mind, I've chosen this quotation. It comes from Henri Jozef Machiel Nouwen, (1932 – 1996), a Dutch Catholic priest, professor, writer and theologian.

“Did I offer peace today?

Did I bring a smile to someone's face?

Did I say words of healing?

Did I let go of my anger and resentment?

Did I forgive?

Did I love?

That's a set of really important questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come”.

- MACHIEL NOUWEN -

I agree that it's a set of questions we'd be doing very well to ask ourselves, every day. 🙏

Thank you for the thought provoking quote Callendersgal and the beautiful flower photo.

We reap what we sow and I’ll endeavour to be kind, to smile and be extra patient with Pete.

Enjoy your day and wishing you a very Easter. Xxxx😘🌹

It is particularly hard to give up an outing when this may possibly be the last chance

I know FredaE! It's a bitter pill to have to swallow. Is there something you are having to give up on altogether?

I am only half moved in as I was getting my house ready to let it out when all this blew up, so my house is not being lived in, my council tax is still having to be paid and whatever I want to use seems to where I am not and I daren't go the storage unit in case the local police feel my collar. What am I comlaining about? I have a nice house, all my beloved books, a lovely garden and a delightful companion and at the moment touch wood, a whole forests worth of wood,we are reaping the benefit of self isolating. I am not complaining at all but I am thinking of people who are shut in somewhere with no view. We can talk to the peole walking their dogs past on the other side of the road. Everyone is taking it very seriously here. Quite a high proportion of retired peole and so far I have only met one who thinks we all ought to be put out of our misery

Oh that's awkward FredaE, being betwixt and between two homes! And so irritating to have no tenant but lumbered with two lots of council tax.

But it seems that in general you are coping really well and have some sterling neighbours and some personal compensations. It really isn't fun being cooped up in a city apartment, but even I managed to escape for a short while for a walk around the neighbourhood this morning, which was lovely after 3 weeks of confinement. I certainly hope that most of your neighbours aren't considering being 'put out of their misery'! There's always one though! 😊
