Hi everyone,

How's your weather today. It's bright and sunny here on the south coast today and feels like a cheery start to the week. Let's hope it'll continue in that way.

What do you think about the relaxation of shopping rules from today? I was astounded to see a news item this morning about the queues outside some shops. I can understand how desperate people are for a bit of increased freedom, but I don't really see it as a freedom to have to queue for hours to buy non-essential items. And I don't know about you, but for me, shopping's a social event, usually with friends or family, time to browse and enjoy coffee or a lunch out. So this really isn't for me as yet. But for those who must, I hope it does the trick.

Last week I did go out, however, for something more than just a quick walk around the neighbourhood once or twice, and it was lovely. I hope I can build on that a bit now and at least venture out a couple of times this week.

Do share with us, if you've been able to relax the rules yourself too. Did anyone manage to create a 'bubble' and meet up with with family members after a long time alone?

Take care and I hope the coming week will be a good one for you.๐Ÿ™

Weโ€™re also on the south coast Callendersgal so yes itโ€™s a nice start to the day and week hopefully.

I was horrified at the queues outside stores, many not abiding by 2m social distancing rules. Pete and I wonโ€™t be going anywhere for sometime as itโ€™s not the fun experience it used to be. Weโ€™ll see how things progress.

Have a lovely day everyone. Xxxx๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ’–

Hi sassy59, I'm a little bit concerned by the pressure being put on government to reduce that 2 metre rule too. I hope they only bow to it if evidence based by scientists that it's safe to do so. Anyway, have a great day! xxxx๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ”†๐Ÿ”†

A lot want the distancing rule reduced just to get pubs etc open. Pure common sense tells you this is a ridiculous idea.

I love a meal in the pub but doubt we will be doing that this year. Really sad as pub lunches were our social life really.

Enjoy the sun shine x

Hi Lynd,

I know what you mean. One of my favourite outings is a pub lunch. If the weather stays kind it might be possible as we have quite a lot of country pubs a shortish drive away with big gardens, so eating out might literally be the way to go! I miss the sociability of having a coffee out too, and I can't see me going shopping until I can get my coffee and bun fix either. I have a feeling we will end up with a reduced 'safe' distance, purely on economic grounds, but I wish the government would at least wait until we see what happens in countries which already have a 1 or 1.5 metre rule. Meantime it's 'if in doubt, don't' as far as I'm concerned. Hope both of you are OK and remaining safe yourselves. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ”†

Hi Sara_2611, sorry it wasn't so bright for you yesterday further north. I think there might be more unsettled weather on its way now though, so that could even up the score! ๐ŸŒค๐Ÿ˜Š
