Quotation for Thursday 11 June 2020

Hello everyone,

Most of us have heard of the concept of Karma, but many assume it to be a punishment meted out for wrongful actions.

Karma is really only a way of describing one of the laws of nature: that for every action, there is a reaction, or, cause and effect. For example, throw a stone at a car, and a dent will follow.

'The consequences of your actions' is a more understandable way to describe it.

Sometimes we don't think through our actions far enough. And unpleasant consequences can ensue. We can't escape that.

Not every good action has a good consequence, nor a bad action a bad one, but we should always be prepared to take the consequences of whatever it is we decide to do.

Sivananda Saraswati, the Hindu spiritual teacher and proponent of yoga, said:

"A mountain is composed of tiny grains of earth. The ocean is made up of tiny drops of water. Even so, life is but an endless series of little details, actions, speeches, and thoughts. And the consequences, whether good or bad, of even the least of them, are far-reaching."

Hope everyone has a good day today. 🌺😊
