Hi Jennymary,

it might be too late to prolong the life of your corsage in its present state. What's done to flowers to make them into a corsage is actually not that flower friendly to begin with, and the deterioration starts not long after you first pin it to you.

But if you want to preserve it longer term, the time honoured way is with silica gel crystals which are those things you sometimes find in little packets inside packages that the manufacturer wants to make sure stay dry. You can buy it in greater quantity from craft shops and online and some packs come in sizes especially for floral projects. (It's not cheap though).

One other method I've read about, but never tried, is to hang your corsage upside down, somewhere dry but airy for three or four weeks, and then spray it with plenty of HAIRSPRAY! (I do feel that although this would be much cheaper, the result wouldn't be guaranteed, and I'd bet that at the very least it would lose a lot of colour).

It really is good to have something very personal to the day to remember it by, so good luck if you decide to go for either method. Very best wishes.

Thank you, that's the two options I saw when I googled what to do with the corsage

Just had another thought Jennymary. You could also ‘press’ it if you don’t mind its ending up flat. And that’s quite inexpensive too so long as you have some books and a kitchen roll.

It will fade however you try to preserve it. . Could you get a small image extracted from the wedding photo and print it as a small framed picture , then it would stay fresh for ever.

Like that idea, I've got a picture of it on my phone, but I feel it really is too late to do anything with it

Brilliant idea FredaE and must I must remember that for the future for treasured things to do just that, when they are still at their best!!
