Hi everyone and welcome to Feel Good Friday. Please let us know how your week has been and how you all are. We would really like for you to share it with us. Our baby grandson has gone to his music group this morning. He is only 3 months old and really loves it. He seems to enjoy listening to me play the piano too, and enjoys songs. I have always found music to be very enjoyable and relaxing. I have found this quote, which I think is lovely---

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched--they must be felt with the heart." [Helen Keller]

Please share your news with us, whether it is positive or not so positive. We are listening. Have a good week.

Thank you and best wishes

MAS Nurse.

Hello, we’ve had a good week on the whole. Friends have visited today and I cooked roast lamb for dinner. It all went down very well.

Our grandson goes to a group called songbirds. He’s nearly 14 months and really enjoys it.

The weather is wet and horrible but we’re warm and happy which is good.

Have a peaceful weekend everyone and stay as well as possible. Xxxxx

Hi Sassy59 and thank you for your reply. It sounds like you all had a lovely lunch. Roast lamb is my favourite. Lovely to hear your grandson likes his group. What a nice name, too. Have a great weekend. Thank you and best wishes.

Hi MAS_Nurse,

Music's amazing isn't it? It can instantly cheer you or make you cry, or stir memories of the past, in an instant. And your grandson is already making musical memories at 3 months old. How lovely.

What a wet and windy end to the week. I woke in the night to the full force of storm Erik as it drove rain horizontally up the High Street outside. I'd arranged to meet a friend at a local cafe at 11am and was fully expecting her to call it off, as she has to travel through the New Forest to reach me, but no, there she was, faithfully waiting for me as a following wind blew me to the cafe door.

So we passed a really pleasant couple of hours over coffees, chatting and gossiping, and then I had to rush home to get a meal for my husband who was off to his night shift. A soggy and rushed ending, but to a pleasant day. Sometimes the simplest things are the best.

Have a good weekend.

Hi Callendersgal and thank you for your reply. Yes, music is wonderful. I started playing the piano when I was 9 and the flute when I was in senior school. It is nice that you were able to meet up with your friend, despite the weather conditions and have a nice relaxing chat over coffee. Hope you have a good weekend, too.

Thank you and best wishes

Hi MAS Nurse and everyone. Not a bad week here. Agree about the positives of music. We play music for mom so she's not lay in bed in silence. If I feel down I find a bit of disco cheers me up! Looks like mom bedridden now. Some sores healing but new ones starting, even though she's turned regularly and on pressure mattress. Not wanting to eat much but getting crafty with combinations of veggies and sweet stuff. She will tend to eat sweet food off a spoon! Blitzing mash potato, sweet potato and apple then mixing with weetabix, stirring into soups and serving with custard or ice cream at tea time. It's working so carry on getting creative. Now that snowdrops and crocuses showing their colours, feeling more positive that better weather and lighter nights on their way. Have a good weekend everyone. X

Hi, read your post, glad your grandson likes music, to play or listen to is a good calmer.

I played brass for years & contested, now I cannot even raise one note due to emphysema.

get him on an instrument as soon as you can, although he is a little young just now.

You ask about the week past, I came all the way home (from Lanzarote) for an operation, only to find that I had been pushed back for a pre-op yet again, not best pleased.

I've had blood tests only to find that with blood thinners the needle hole continued to bleed all down my arm, bit worrying walking & dripping at the same time. I've also had an infusion which went better than usual as the nurse used a vein that is on the back side of

the arm and not used or seen a great deal. It all went well.
