Gall stones and anaemia.

I have been diagnosed with gall stones after pain in my side,I was reffered to see a consultant, after having a blood test it came back that I am anaemic, so now I am having to have a colonoscopy to find out why I am. I think it may be because for about a month I have not been eating very well as went off my food, I just wish I could be given a bit more time to get back to normal with my diet as I am now having no symptoms and feel well again, maybe My blood levels will improve .

Have the test, it will do no harm. One possible cause could be that you are ceoliac or there are many other things that could be wrong. No point in waiting in case it happens again!

Hi Bundleone, welcome to our caring forum where you will meet some really nice and helpful forum members. I think it is always best to go ahead and have a test done, that will ease your mind then. And hopefully that you are now back eating again, with a good and varied diet you will soon feel better and that your anaemia will improve. Are you waiting to see a hospital consultant about your Gall bladder, is this going to be needed to be removed in time I wonder? Have a chat with your GP if you have concerns about having further tests done, who will I'm sure will explain the test and reassure you also. Do go back to your doctor or the hospital again though if you do get a recurrence of you pain......wishing you well soon and take care of yourself....very best wishes to you....
