Some signs of dementia are repeating the same questions and information over and over. Also, not recognizing people who were familiar, or mistaking them for other relations, or not believing that individual has died. Also, not recalling the purpose of a tool, implement or object, or trying to use one of these in an inappropriate manner. Repeatedly asking what day it is, or insisting it is a different day. Occasionally, attempting to eat inedible objects, like a plastic salt shaker. Inability to use a checkbook or control personal finances.

With me it was forgetting appointments, repeatedly asking the same questions, arguing deafness but not, the words that go in don't make any sense so that's also a sign. Mine is early on set vascular Dementia, if you or elderly or maybe younger, go to the Doctor and he/she can test you. There's a lot to it so don't delay.

My earliest recollection, was a number of years before more obvious systems my lovely husband had, he would tell tales from the past, which were not real and yet he believed they were. Over the on going years he kept repeating questions, then found things difficult to understand, I was in denial for a long time, in the end I knew it was so and had to get help. Take care and remember others care for you too.
