Hi my husband had a stroke in June he's 68 I still work fulltime I've paid for shower unit to be fitted a ramp in the garden and repair a stair lift. I've spied for attendance allowance but will not get u til December as have to wait until he's been ill for 6mtbs. Is this right it's crazy I need help now

Yes unfortunately there is a period of 6 months before you can actually get Attendance Allowance but you can make the claim earlier. Usually the only exceptio to the 6 months rule is if a person unfortunately is terminally ill and they can then claim under Special Rules.x
